Building the Vision

We recently shared a historical article where Irene Fisher, University Neighborhood Partners’s founding Director shared how the vision for UNP began. After hundreds of conversations the University leased a house near Jordan Park from Salt Lake City at no cost for 10 years. Intermountain Health Care then provided the funds to remodel the house which completed in 2003, but the demolition was done by volunteers and community members; several of whom are still connected to UNP.

Where UNP is concerned, that’s how things continue to be done – through conversation, partnership, volunteerism, and community. That initial vision for UNP…a community coming together still thrives after 15 years as we engage the community in the process of developing a strategic plan to map out what happens next.
