SCSMA Food Distribution
November 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Every 3rd Friday after the 1st Monday of the month, a partnership between Somali Community Self Management Agency and Utah Food Bank provides free groceries for families at the UNP Hartland Partnership Center parking lot.
This is open to all families within the area regardless of need. Food distribution starts between 10:00 am and 11:00 am and continues until they run out of food.
The Somali Community Self-Management Agency is a community-based service organization. Our mission is to work for the success of refugees and current community members to undergo a smooth transitional process and attain a self-sustainable status in the United States of America and the State of Utah.
Utah Food Bank’s Mobile Pantries provide support to Utahns living in areas that are classified as food deserts or are inaccessible or underserved by traditional food pantries. Many Utahns live in areas classified as food deserts, areas where residents don’t have healthy, affordable food stores near them and lack sufficient transportation to get to the nearest stores. Often, the few food resources available often lack nutrition (such as fast food restaurants) or are over-priced and under-nutritious (such as convenience stores).
