Join us at this upcoming event focused on the scholars and organizers on the front lines of the national struggle for educational justice. Their book, Lift Us Up, Don’t Push Us Out: Voices from the Front Lines of the Educational Justice Movement will be the subject of a community conversation presented to University of Utah faculty and open to the public on Monday, May 6 at 7:00 pm at the Glendale Library.
The book’s authors, Maisie Chin and Vajra Watson, and editor Mark Warren will be at the event to talk about new strategies in the educational justice movement. Their book contains stories from activists, educators, and organizers who describe their successes and struggles in this vital movement. The book’s approaches offer community-based alternatives to corporate education reform and privatization.
