Join the University of Utah’s Bennion Center and Salt Lake City’s west side neighborhoods in a morning of intensive community service! This year marks the 16th Annual Legacy of Lowell Day of Service which is this Saturday, September 21 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Volunteers will meet at Glendale Middle School and can be transported to other sites throughout the community.
Legacy of Lowell is the Bennion Center’s largest Saturday Service Project and there are a variety of volunteer opportunties available, from gardening to cleaning to making dog beds and more. The day begins with a kick off at Glendale Middle School, where volunteers are treated to Rico breakfast burritos and encouraged to mingle with the community. Then, help community agencies improve life in our neighborhoods. Spend Saturday morning volunteering in ways that fit your interests and abilities, with plenty of projects that are also perfect for families volunteering together.
This year there are 37 projects and 1100 total volunteer spots, so there is plenty of room to help. Interested? Register HERE.
Legacy of Lowell honors Lowell Bennion, the Bennion Center’s namesake, who led a life devoted to service.
